FDE Prime Contract: N61339-02-D-0001 (Zones 4 & 6). In performing system modification for delivery orders under this contract, FDE applied engineering, scientific, and analytical disciplines during design modification as well as facility-related installation requirements such as fire stops, access, ingress/egress, noise levels, etc. We minimized the use of hazardous materials and conscientiously apply overheat sensing, emergency power-off controls and switches, safety/emergency lighting, warning decals/placards, guards and safety covers. If we are unable to eliminate a risk we control the hazard to its minimum level. We also use protective clothing and equipment (i.e., ear or eye protection) as required. CSC Prime Contract: N00024-01-D-7017 (Zone 4). CSC performs on-site technical analysis and review of safety related issues associated with the design and construction of LPD 17. CSC provides oversight of the Shipbuilder's system safety effort and participates in the Shipbuilder's (Avondale) various IPTs as part of a joint Government/Industry systems engineering effort. This includes formal technical presentations to the WSESRB in Washington, DC, in addition to interfacing with the Naval Safety Center in Norfolk and the President’s Board of Inspection and Survey. CSC also provides continuous oversight of the implementation and execution of the Shipbuilder's System Safety Program Plan. |
