3.5 System Design Documentation and Technical Data Support

FDE Prime Contract: N61339-02-D-0001 (Zones 4 & 6). Under the S-3B Tactics Instructor/Operator Station (TAC IOS) Delivery Order, FDE provided the services required to install and support the TAC IOS Modification on S-3B WSTs and the PTCM. A significant engineering effort was required to ensure that detailed technical data necessary to support system development reflected the modified design, configuration, and installation. FDE updated the following documents for each baseline: Configuration Management Plan, Database Design Document, Interface Design Document, Tactics Instructor Utilization Handbook, Planned Maintenance System, Tactics Operation and Maintenance Instructions, Simulator Software Utilization Handbook, Software Top Level Design Document, Trainer Test Procedures and Results Report, and Training Device Inventory Record. Changes were made to the engineering drawing package for each baseline. We updated the installation drawing package (using the maintenance drawing package developed by a previous contractor as an initial baseline) to reflect the newly released drawing revisions. Because of multiple ongoing modifications to the training system, this effort required extensive coordination and configuration management to ensure a viable and accurate drawing package for the entire system.
