3.2 Engineering, System Engineering and Process Engineering Support

FDE Prime Contract: N61339-02-D-0001 (Zones 4 & 6). FDE provides Engineering, Technical, and Life Cycle Support Services for the S-3B Weapons Systems Trainers (WSTs) and the Positional Trainer Complex Module (PTCM) as well as SH-60B, SH-60S, MH-60R and MH-60S trainers. FDE has consistently supported the development and application of scientific and analytical disciplines, particularly in the areas of system and subsystem requirements assessment; development, concept analysis and development of operational concepts that enhance warfighting capabilities through high fidelity training. As part of this contract we have implemented Forward Looking Infra-Red (FLIR) modifications on H-60 trainer platforms including software and hardware design and development, software and hardware documentation maintenance and development, verification and validation, software modification and installation support, configuration management and quality assurance, and technical library maintenance and development for updating FLIR simulation on H-60 simulators. FDE has also been tasked with training system documentation updates, monitoring and reporting work progress, the development of a Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M), and other software/hardware support which includes a variety of tasks from design reviews to testing and evaluation.
