FDE Prime Contracts: N61339-03-C-0102 (Zone 4), N61339-02-D-0001 (Zones 4 & 6) and F42630-03-D-0006 (Zone 6). In our performance of the UST Contract, the S-3B and H-60 ISEO Engineering Support contract, and the B-52 Engineering Support Services for GPS/Tactical Air Navigation contract (a contract to provide engineering expertise for the B-52 Training Devices integrated product team (IPT) responsible for the reliability, maintenance, and sustainment of B-52 Training Devices), FDE has consistently implemented acquisition logistics as a multi-functional technical management discipline. Our standard policies and procedures ensure that support considerations are an integral part of system design requirements, that the system can be cost effectively supported through its life-cycle, and that the infrastructure elements necessary to the initial fielding and operational support of the system are identified, developed and acquired. On the S-3B and H-60 ISEO Contract we have kept a complex system of multi-platform simulators concurrent with the actual weapon systems ensuring high fidelity training for the warfighter. This has involved design, modification development, testing with the user, producing field kits to implement changes in fielded training systems and sustaining both the baseline and modified systems. Our efforts in the UST contract are focused on the complete modernization of the hardware platform and conversion of the instructional software so that it is fully operable on the new hardware platform. On the B-52 Engineering Support Contract we are integral members of the Government’s IPT and have prepared Statements of Objectives and Purchase Descriptions, assisted with the review of other contractor proposals for compliance, and provided technical assistance to the contracting officer regarding technical requirements. As part of this contract, we have particularly monitored Hardware/Software Integration (HSI) development to assure the quality of other contractor’s modifications. We also participate in government acceptance testing and assist with Physical Configuration Audits and pre-publication reviews. Our support on these contracts represents cradle-to-grave involvement in the Acquisition Logistics process. |
