3.11 Quality Assurance (QA) Support

FDE Prime Contract: N61339-02-D-0001 (Zones 4 & 6). FDE's Quality Assurance (QA) Program processes documented in our Quality Assurance Manual are based on (a) ISO-9001:2000, (b) MIL-STD-45662A, (c) MIL-HDBK-52A, (d) MIL-STD-1916 and (e) MIL-HDBK-1916. Our QA processes have been successfully implemented, assuring delivered modifications, systems, and services meet customer expectations. In the CAINS II Delivery Order, FDE performed an aircraft concurrency trainer upgrade that modeled the installation of a new navigation system in the Navy S-3B Viking aircraft. The modification hardware and software replaced the Navigation Control Panel, Navigation Control Interface Unit, and several other pieces of obsolete equipment. During this process, software design and coding were reviewed in keeping with the Software Quality Plan and underwent formal acceptance testing appropriate to the Government-furnished SDP. All trainer software baseline modifications were verified prior to formal acceptance test and evaluation activities.
