3.10 Configuration Management (CM) Support

FDE Prime Contract: N61339-02-D-0001 (Zones 4 &6). FDE provides Configuration Management (CM) support through established procedures and automated CM tools that verify the functional, performance, and physical characteristics of systems, control changes and non-conformance, and track configurations of systems and platforms. Configuration identification is established and maintained for Computer Software Configuration Items (CSCIs), Hardware Configuration Items (HWCIs), and for training device documentation using COTS CM software. CSCI and related documentation requirements are established IAW the applicable documentation item specified in the contract and reflected in the Configuration Management Plan and the Software Development Plan (SDP), as applicable. FDE evaluated configuration data for all subcontractor host computer boards for the SH-60B program and provided cost estimates to ISEO for rehosting SH-60B trainers. Additional tasks under this delivery order included software and hardware documentation maintenance and development, verification and validation, and technical library maintenance and development. On the S3B No-Antisubmarine Warfare Delivery Order, FDE generated two separate software baselines to install the "No ASW" modification into trainers with different hardware configurations: those with Carrier Aircraft Inertial Navigation System (CAINS) II capabilities and those without. With the TAC IOS Modification Delivery Order, CM processes were used successfully to identify and track changes to the drawing package as several major modifications were being performed simultaneously.
